The couple were married for 13 years.
News of the split first emerged on Thursday afternoon, and was later confirmed by Kyle, 50, in an interview with The Sun. He told the newspaper: "After 13 years of a generally happy marriage, my wife and I, Carla, have separated amicably. We have sadly grown apart over recent years and been living apart since earlier this summer."
He added that the couple will continue to provide their "three lovely children", with a "stable upbringing [in]... inevitably upsetting circumstances."
Kyle, and Germaine, 40, tied the knot in 2002, having first met in 1999. The couple have three children together; Henry, Alicia and Ava. Kyle is also a father to Harriet, 25, from his first marriage to Kirsty Rowley. The pair's union ended in 1990, after just a year.
