The couple started dating in January of this year after meeting at the NTAs, and just six months later, they announced they were engaged. However, following weeks of speculation the couple's romance was in trouble, the TOWIE star has now appeared to confirm the reports.
In an interview with Now magazine, the 25-year-old revealed that the pair had not been getting along for a couple of weeks. It was here, that Rayment suggested they have some time apart – only for Simpson to then decide to end the relationship.
He told the publication: "I said to her, 'Let's rejuvenate things – you go back to Newcastle for a bit and I'll stay here. You can go and see your mates and I'll see mine and everything will go back to normal.'
"She took it the wrong way. She ended up breaking up with me. I was pretty devastated. She was on her way home and she texted me."
However, he added that he isn't giving up on their relationship, explaining: "It's been an upsetting time, but love isn't easy. When you do find the one you want to be with forever you have to do everything you can to make sure you get through it."
