According to Us Weekly, the couple are going through a "rough patch".
Bundchen, 35, and 38-year-old Brady, who is a quarterback for the New England Patriots, were first said to have been going through a difficult time last month. The reports came after Brady appeared in court for a hearing in relation to 'Deflategate'.
In July, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell upheld a four-game suspension for Brady, concluding that the quarterback had colluded with two Patriots ball handlers to deflate footballs before the 45-7 victory over the Colts in the NFL final earlier this year. Brady has insisted he had no part in the act, which has been dubbed 'Deflategate', and while his wife has been supportive of him since the accusations first emerged, it is now claimed the scandal has put pressure on the couple's marriage.
A source is quoted by Us Weekly as saying Bundchen has now consulted a divorce lawyer, but her partner is not taking it seriously.
"Tom thinks it's only a threat," they claimed. "But this is definitely a rough patch. Things are very tense right now. This could be the end of them."
Last week, an insider was also quoted by People magazine as saying: "There have been a lot of stresses in their marriage in the last year, especially during football season. Tom is singularly focused on his career and sometimes Gisele feels left out. There have been arguments."
They added that Brady has "become very nasty and irritable and started acting out."
Bundchen and Brady started dating in December 2006 after being set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. In February 2009, the couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Santa Monica. They have two children together; their son Benjamin was born in December 2009 and their daughter, Vivian, was born in December 2012.
