Rihanoff, 37, has been labelled as a homewrecker after it was revealed she was dating the former rugby player. The couple were romantically linked shortly after they were paired on the talent show last year, but denied the claims. Cohen, 36, later separated from his wife of 12 years, Abby, with Abby since suggesting that her estranged partner was unfaithful.
However, this isn't the first time Rihanoff has sparked controversy when it comes to her personal life. She previously had a short romance with fellow Strictly professional Vincent Simone in 2008 – while his girlfriend was expecting their child. The following year, she was paired with boxer Joe Calzaghe on the show; shortly afterwards, he ended his relationship and started dating Rihanoff. They were together for four years.
Now, Fern Britton has spoken out to defend the dancer from those criticising her. She told The Mirror: "I like Kristina very much. I worked with her, shared food with her, had a laugh with her, and all I ever saw was a very nice person.
"She's incredibly attractive, so I think it's very easy for blokes to fall in love with her. She's very nice, a great dancer and very funny. Had she been a bloke it would have a been a case of, 'Good on him'.
"It's unfortunate that because she's glamorous, exciting and gorgeous she's going to have this focus on her, have her private life examined as well as her dancing. It's not fair, is it?"
Rihanoff and Cohen recently confirmed they were dating, but insist that they only became a couple after the latter separated from his wife. However, she claims otherwise. In an interview with The Sun, Abby hit out at the new couple, saying: "My husband, who I was with for 23 years, unconditionally loved and was completely loyal to in every respect, has left me for a f***ing Russian dancer."
