The singer, 22, has been promoting their single 'Black Magic' in the US since the beginning on August, but around the same time, it was revealed that Edwards was no longer in a relationship with former One Direction star Zayn Malik. Malik, also 22, was said to have ended their engagement via a text message.
Within hours of the news being released, Edwards was forced to take part in a live interview with her bandmates, and when asked about how she was feeling, she admitted that she was "good". She has continued to insist in interviews that she is fine, but on Wednesday, she appeared to be struggling to deal with the couple's split.
Appearing on NBC's 30 Rock Stage for AOL, the girl group were performing their new track 'The End' as part of a live stream fan event. Edwards sang the line, 'No one can love you, the way I used to do', before she started to cry on stage. Her bandmates were quick to comfort her, with Jesy Nelson later saying it had "been a long day."
