The 22-year-old singer and the DJ were first said to be in a relationship in February of this year after they took to social media to share photos of themselves spending time together in the studio. Around this time, they were also working on a collaboration, 'I Want You To Know'.
However, last month, the couple's relationship was declared a publicity stunt by music producer Diplo.
The 36-year-old was quoted as telling Radio.com: "I just think that he [Zedd] came from such a cool place, and now he's been pegged as a money-maker for a major label to do EDM. But they've pegged him for that, they've marketed him, even the fake relationship with Selena Gomez, all the things to sell records took away from the music."
Now, Gomez has hit back at the claims, saying she "definitely had a thing" with Zedd.
She is quoted as telling New Zealand radio's The Edge Afternoons: "He [Diplo] said that was a joke! He said that was a joke cause I talked to him.'
"First off, it's very interesting that Diplo would think he knew about my personal life, but he doesn't. I adore Anton [Zedd] a lot and I definitely had a thing with him, which was nice."
