The couple, who announced their engagement in 2012, separated the following Christmas. However, just weeks later, the 44-year-old discovered she was pregnant with the couple's child. They later reunited, but the actress has confirmed that they have once again decided to go their separate ways.
Speaking to the MailOnline, she said: "Whilst we have decided not to remain together, we are committed to bringing up our wonderful son and making sure we are great parents and supporting each other to achieve that."
Sweeney and Reilly welcomed their first child, a son named Jaxon, in September last year.
