According to a number of media reports from the US, the couple are thought to have drifted apart.
A source is quoted by People magazine as saying that the pair "both had a lot of growing up to do and it was better that they do it on their own", while Just Jared quotes another insider as saying the relationship "ran its course", but the couple remain on friendly terms.
Roberts, 24, and Peters first met on the set of Adult World. They then went on to appear in television show American Horror Story together. They started dating in the summer of 2012 and their engagement was announced in December 2013. Just a few months prior to this, the couple were staying at a hotel in Montreal, Canada, when they were overheard arguing. Described as a "heated argument", the police were called to the scene after the couple started hitting each other. Roberts was arrested; it is thought her boyfriend was not arrested as Roberts did not have any immediately visible injuries. Evans chose not to press charged and hours later, his partner was released. They released a joint statement saying it was an "unfortunate incident and misunderstanding", and they they were working together to move on from the altercation.
