Richardson found herself in the spotlight earlier this year after she was spotted in a photo with the former One Direction singer. The image, which was taken in a nightclub in Phuket, Thailand, showed Richardson 'cosying' up to Malik, while the singer wrapped his arms around her waist. Many who saw the photo accused Malik of cheating on his fiancée. While both Richardson and Malik denied the claims at the time, the 22-year-old quit One Direction just days later. He had been signed off on stress, but his bandmates later revealed that he wanted to spend more time with his wife-to-be.
Now, Richardson has penned an open letter to Edwards to tell her side of the story. Writing in Now magazine, she insisted: "Absolutely nothing happened. I went near Zayn's table to get a picture with him and I got it and nothing else happened.
"Zayn's not my type and I don't fancy him. He's too young for me!"
She added: "I haven't had any contact with Zayn since and Perrie hasn't contacted me either. There wasn't anything to say to her or anyone as nothing happened."
