The 21-year-old was forced to deny that she is the reason her fiancé Zayn Malik to suddenly quit One Direction in March. At the time, he was signed off the boyband's tour with stress, but it was later revealed that Malik, 22, wanted to live a "normal" life and spend more time with his partner. Following this announcement, fans of the boyband blamed Edwards for causing upset and compared her to Yoko Ono – who was blamed for causing trouble within The Beatles when she was married to John Lennon.
Speaking to the Metro on Sunday, however, when asked about the reports Edwards simply replied: "Well, I don't even know what to say!"
She seemingly refused to discuss the issue further, leaving her Little Mix bandmate Jade Thirlwall to say: "Negative things don't bother us anymore because we're past it now. We're doing really well for ourselves and focus on the positive."
Malik and Edwards first met on The X Factor in 2011. They started dating shortly afterwards and in August 2013, the couple announced they were engaged.
