Kym Marsh has ended her engagement to Dan Hooper.
The announcement comes just a few weeks after the couple confirmed they were taking a break in order to sort through their relationship troubles.
Marsh, 38, was spotted last week without her engagement ring, prompting speculation that the pair were unable to sort out their differences. Fans of the couple were then quick to spot that the pair had removed any mentions of their estranged half in their respective Twitter bios. For example, Hooper previously had a photo of himself and Marsh as his profile image. This has now been replaced with an image of Hooper by himself. He has also removed the words "fiance to the most amazing girl in the world" from his bio.
Similarly, Kym has also deleted any trace of her ex from her social media account.
The Sun quotes an insider as saying: "Kym is heartbroken. She carried on wearing her ring after she and Dan decided to take a break and hoped they'd get back together. But it has become clear there is no way back for them."
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Marsh is quoted as saying: "It was a mutual decision. They decided they would go their separate ways."
Marsh and Hooper, 32, were first reported to be in a relationship in April 2014, but the romance was surrounded by controversy after it was alleged that Hooper had cheated on his former girlfriend Stephanie Waring, who was also a friend of Marsh. Waring later said the couple had separated shortly before Hooper started dating Marsh.
While Marsh initially denied she was dating the personal trainer, Hooper soon took to Twitter to share a black and white photo of them kissing. In December 2014, the couple announced their engagement.
