Kym Marsh has broken her silence regarding her relationship troubles – more than a week after it was revealed she and her fiancé Dan Hooper were said to be "on a break".
Last Monday, it was reported that the couple were experiencing trouble in their relationship. This was later confirmed by Hooper via a tweet, but Marsh remained silent on the claims.
Now, the 'Coronation Street' actress has discussed the issue in her latest column for OK! magazine.
The 38-year-old admitted: "It's been a really tough and upsetting time. It was a really difficult decision for us both to make but something that we mutually felt we had to do, as we both needed some space.
"We've been in contact daily though. We needed to take a step back, have some time on our own and figure out where things have gone wrong and see if we can fix it – I hope that we can."
She added: "I've said in the past that I've felt happier with Dan than with anyone and that's true, but issues come up in relationships and you have to try and deal with them."
Marsh and Hooper, 32, were first reported to be in a relationship in April 2014, but the romance was surrounded by controversy after it was alleged that Hooper had cheated on his former girlfriend Stephanie Waring, who was also a friend of Marsh. Waring later said the couple had separated shortly before Hooper started dating Marsh.
While Marsh initially denied she was dating the personal trainer, he soon took to Twitter to share a black and white photo of them kissing. In December 2014, the couple announced their engagement.
