The couple first starting dating last year, but then split up – only to reunite – a number of times in the following months. At the time of their last break-up, it was said that the decision was amicable, but the pair have since hit out at each other via social media.
Now, Wright can be seen discussing the breakdown of his relationship in a chat with his TOWIE co-star and friend James 'Lockie' Lock. During the talk, he reveals that he ended the relationship with Sims after discovering a message from Chloe's ex-boyfriend on her phone.
He said: "To cut a long story short, there was a text message from her boyfriend saying, 'Don't settle down with him [Wright]. Meet me in Barcelona... before you make a decision.'
"As a good girl, Chloe replied with the right response. She said, 'I really want to come to Barcelona and meet you, but I've got an ear infection so I can't fly.'"
Wright continued: "I don't know. Is that girlfriend material? I don't think it's someone I want to settle down with, especially with having a long-distance relationship."
"I was nice about it," he added. "I sent her a nice text that said, 'Look... you look well at the moment but it ain't going to work with me and you."
Wright, 34, and Sims, 33, have had an on-off relationship since last year. The TOWIE star confirmed last month that the couple had called time on their relationship for good, however.
