The Hollywood actor tied the knot with human rights' lawyer Amal Alamuddin in September 2014. They have mostly kept their relationship out of the spotlight, but speaking to Mario Lopez for an interview with Extra, the 54-year-old took the opportunity to discuss the couple's relationship – and deny rumours that they buy each other lavish birthday gifts.
When asked what Alamuddin had bought him for his birthday earlier this week, Clooney replied: "Umm... I can't tell you. But it wasn't a Porsche. Did you see that [report]? Didn't get a blender, didn't get a Porsche. What the heck?"
The actor went on to talk about his love of sports – something his wife doesn't share the same interest in.
"I hate to say it, because it kills her, but it's ESPN. I watch sports," he admitted. "She goes, 'Every weekend we're watching a sporting event?' And I was like, 'Actually, that's kind of how it works'."
Clooney and Alamuddin, 37 announced their engagement in April 2014. They are thought to have started dating in October 2013 having met at a fundraising event. They married in Italy in September 2014.
