The referendum was held in November 2012, and introduced two key measures around children's rights, including state intervention in exceptional circumstances, and focusing on the best interests of the child in any legal proceeding.
Robert Troy, the party's spokesperson on Children, said: "I welcome the decision by the Supreme Court to uphold the result of the Children's Referendum held in November 2012. It is a positive development that ensures the will of the people is recognised and the referendum can now be implemented.
"It is important that there are no further delays in enshrining children's rights in our constitution now that the Supreme Court has made its decision.
"I strongly urge the Minister to expedite the passage of the legislation to give effect to the referendum. We do not want another generation of children growing up without the benefit of the provisions of the legislation."

Fianna Fáil, one of Ireland's main political parties, has welcomed a decision by the Supreme Court, to uphold the results of the Children's Referendum.The referendum was held in November 2012, and introduced two key measures around children's rights, including state intervention in exceptional circumstances, and focusing on the best interests of the child in any legal proceeding.
