In March 2014, the couple announced they were "consciously uncoupling" after 10 years of marriage. It is now understood they have filed the appropriate documents, and their divorce was finalised on Monday. TMZ added that the divorce was amicable.
The details of the settlement are confidential, but there are no reported problems regarding moneyor custody of the couple's two children.
Paltrow announced the couple's split on her website Goop last year. She said: "It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate.
"We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been. We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time.
"We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner."
Paltrow, 42, and Martin, 38, married in a secret ceremony in December 2003, just days after they confirmed the actress was expecting their first child. The couple had already been together for a year, after reportedly meeting backstage at a Coldplay concert. They have two children together; daughter Apple, 10, and nine-year-old son, Moses.
