Her latest comments come just weeks after voice recordings – where Osborne allegedly threatened to stab Tomlin if she dated another man – were leaked. While Tomlin has said she was not the one to release the audio, she has now said she initially recorded the conversations as she wanted help for what she said was continued abuse by the TOWIE star.
Speaking to new! magazine, Tomlin, who is the mother of Osborne's 15-month-old son son Teddy, confessed: "The tapes you've listened to or read about were not a one-off. They were typical of Daniel's behaviour towards me. The recordings were first made to seek help from family members. It was only through this that people were able to see the true extent of the problem."
She added that her ex was so controlling, that she had to delete her Facebook account shortly after they started a relationship, just so she could avoid an argument.
"Many of the comments I've read online say things like, 'If he was that bad she would have left him straight away'," she continued. "Well, it's never as simple as that... When you're in such a relationship, it's hard to explain to others how your partner is manipulating you.
"Of course, I was in love with Daniel and I was embarrassed to speak out about what was happening. I didn't want other people to criticise him and part of me hoped he would change.
"He tried to make me believe that the situation between us was my fault. You can hear this on the tape, when Daniel tells me I've broken up the family, despite the fact he moved on when I was four months pregnant – causing a considerable amount of strain and stress during such a precious time."
She added: "I've been to my GP numerous times because I can't put into words how much of a strain the situation has been. If you haven't experienced it, it's hard to explain how much a person can get inside your mind and control how you feel."
He also recently took to Twitter to tell his followers: "Wasn't and never have been violent towards any woman. Ever."
This stance has been supported by his current girlfriend, Jacqueline Jossa – the mother of his two-month-old daughter Ella – who also took to the social networking site to say: "I can assure you I wouldn't stand by a man capable of everything Dan has been made out to be, he is my best friend, boyfriend and he is a brilliant father, above all else, I just want to clear up, he has never once been violent or even shown signs towards me at all.
"People selling stories on him, show one side to a story, but people around Dan know the whole truth, and you would all be shocked.
"I am 100 percent not saying what Daniel has said was right or okay, but people make mistakes when on dark places, and it's something that we sorted out privately not in front of the whole world, it's something he has apologised for and is embarrassed about [sic]."
