Mario Falcone has hit out at Twitter trolls who launched a scathing attack on his girlfriend Emma McVey.
The couple made their TOWIE debut last weekend, but many fans of the show quickly took to social media to criticise Ms McVey's appearance, while others compared her to Falcone's ex, Lucy Mecklenburgh.
After reading some of the comments, McVey took to Twitter herself to say: "How people can be so sad they have to put other people down to make themselves feel better.
"I have a peahead/alien face. I do not care."
Her boyfriend quickly joined in the discussion, defending his partner.
He wrote: "I love you beautiful xxxx".
She later replied: "I love you too munchkin. Cuddles are needed right now xxxxx"
Falcone, 27, and McVey were first said to have been in a relationship in November 2014.
