The former 'Glee' actress revealed the news via her blog, after teasing her followers on her social network accounts.
The 28-year-old first to her Twitter account to say: "First comes love... then comes marriage... then comes..." She then included a link to her blog, where she had shared a photo of a 'bun in the oven'. The image was signed "XO, The Dorseys."
She added: "Surprise! We're having a baby! Ryan and I feel so blessed and can't wait to welcome the newest member of our family."
Rivera and her husband Ryan Dorsey tied the knot in July 2014 in Mexico, following a whirlwind romance. The couple, who are said to have been friends for a few years, only started dating weeks before they married.
The actress was previously engaged to rapper Big Sean. They started dating in April 2013 and announced their engagement that October, but in April 2014, Rivera called off the wedding.
She married Dorsey on the date of her planned wedding to Big Sean. Coincidentally, her pregnancy news comes on the same day her ex released his new album.
