The couple were first reported to have started dating in early 2014, having been introduced by mutual friend Kate Moss, and rumours that the couple were expecting a baby together emerged later that year, in September.
Confirming the birth to People magazine, a representative said Tyler, 37, had given birth to a boy, adding: "He's healthy and everyone is very happy".
A source added that the baby was born "six and a half weeks early and will need to remain in the hospital for some time."
The couple have not revealed the name of their son.
While it is their first child together, Tyler is also a mum to Milo, 10, from her former marriage to Royston Langston.
