The 'Coronation Street' actress is reported to have split from her partner just days before announcing she is to leave the soap after almost five years.
According to The Sun, 24-year-old Foote informed her fellow castmates of her failed engagement at her recent leaving party.
Speaking to Dan Wootton at the publication, a source is quoted as saying: "She had her leaving do from Corrie last week. She was telling everyone they'd split up and she was looking forward to a future acting career in America.
"Everyone was very surprised because she has always been very happy with him and never been interested in a showbiz lifestyle, but this will be a new start for her."
The couple have been in a relationship since their teenage years and in 2013, they became engaged.
