The singer's second album was initially scheduled for release in late 2014, but after she and Harris separated earlier that summer, Ora said the decision was taken to halt the records delivery.
Explaining her reasons for doing so, the 24-year-old told Nylon magazine: "I had a break-up, or whatever, and it really made me realise what I was trying to do. I had been fixated on this love fantasy, but really it wasn't like that, and I had to take myself back.
"For me, this was my moment where I had to be real and tell the truth and be honest."
In June 2014, 30-year-old Harris announced via Twitter that he and Ora had decided to call time on their one-year relationship. The Scottish DJ said: "To address speculation – myself and Rita ended our relationship some time ago. She is a beautiful, talented woman & I wish her all the best."
The couple were said to have parted amicably, but then things took a slightly darker turn when Harris banned his ex from performing a song he wrote for her – I Will Never Let You Down – at the Teen Choice Awards. Ora expressed her disappointment at the time of not being able to perform, but her former partner hit back saying he had a "good reason" for not letting her perform his track.
