Mel B Dismisses Marriage Troubles

Mel B has once again hit out at claims that her marriage is in trouble.

The former Spice Girl has been married to Stephen Belafonte since 2007, but in recent months, the couple are said to have been facing difficulties in their marriage. In December last year, reports alleged that Mel B had been assaulted by her partner – who was also said to be keeping her hostage inside their home. Both parties denied the stories at the time, and the X Factor judge has again spoken out to say the couple are happy.

In what is thought to be a recent video, obtained by the Daily Mirror, the 39-year-old was asked if her husband had hit her. She replied: "No, my husband didn't hit me."

She was then questioned as to whether she was taken hostage, to which she said: "No, I didn't get held hostage. It's all stupid rumours.

"Me and my husband are madly in love."

Mel B, whose real name is Melanie Brown, started dating Belafonte in February 2007. In June of that year, the couple secretly married in Las Vegas. They renewed their vows in November 2008 in Egypt, in front of their families. In September 2011, the couple welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Madison.

Brown is also a mum to daughters Phoenix and Angel from previous relationships, while Belafonte also has a daughter, Giselle, from a former relationship.
