Last month, the 35-year-old confirmed she and her partner Jacob Pechenik were expecting their first child together. The actress has now admitted she can't wait to become a mother.
Speaking to E! News, she said: "I'm really excited. I'm so excited. I'm just so excited to meet my baby! We're very excited."
Deschanel and Pechenik have been in a relationship for six months.
It is understood their child is due in the summer.
