One in six people will kiss a colleague at their work's Christmas party this year, a new survey has revealed.
According to the poll, conducted by Cancer Research UK and published in the Daily Star, a further 11% will embarrass themselves by sharing secrets with their fellow workers.
The findings have been released ahead of the charity's Dryathlon – a campaign which encourages people to stop drinking alcohol for the month of January.
Elsewhere in the survey, a total of 8.7 million people admitted they have embarrassed themselves when they are drunk. Of those polled, 5% of workers said they had missed their last train home following the work Christmas do, while a fifth confessed they had vomited in work the next day.
6% fell asleep on the toilet.
Anthony Newman, Director of Marketing, Cancer Research UK, is quoted as saying: "The work's Christmas party is a long-held tradition. It's a chance to let our hair down and have a great time celebrating the festive season with our work-mates. However, as our results reveal, there could be a few of us with red faces in the office the next morning."
