In an interview with USA Today, the singer slammed the abuse as "disgusting", admitting she had received racist comments as well as death threats.
She added that while she has no control over who posts what on the social networking sites, she "really enjoyed the fun of putting something out and people liking it or hating it or talking about it, but vacuous attention, it feels disgusting.
"It's like a hangover. It's weird, I know that's not really because of me or what I'm doing."
As a result of the abuse she received, FKA Twigs said she had distanced herself from Twitter, but insisted that she could handle it, explaining: "The positivity that I get from [my relationship] makes the more challenging aspects very worth it."
FKA Twigs, 26, and Pattinson, 28, were first reported to be in a relationship in September 2014. They have tried to keep their relationship out of the spotlight.
