The One Direction star made the admission during an interview with BBC Breakfast.
Malik, 21, announced his engagement to Ms Edwards in August last year. They met in 2011, on the set of The X Factor.
When asked about his upcoming wedding, the singer said: "We haven't really thought about the wedding side of things yet, or how we're going to do it.
"We're just kind of engaged, we just haven't had time to organise things like that."
He was then pressed about which, if any, of his four bandmates – Harry, Louis, Niall and Liam – would be his best man, to which Malik replied: "I think it would be quite hard to pick one."
His bandmate Louis Tomlinson then piped up: "It's a bit awkward then isn't it? As long as we're invited."
It has previously been reported that the couple wanted to marry in 2015, and had planned to spend more than £1m on their nuptials.
