The couple started a relationship in 2010 after they were partnered together on celebrity talent show Strictly Come Dancing. However, in December 2013 they were subject to rumours that they had decided to end their romance after they had not been spotted together for a number of months.
A source at the time was quoted by The Mirror as saying: "Things have been a bit rocky between them now for a good few months but they have tried to work through their problems.
"Neither wanted to throw in the towel but Artem's confided in pals that they actually called time on their romance a few months ago. They simply drifted apart."
Now, 31-year-old Tointon has confirmed that the pair are no longer together.
Speaking to The Telegraph's Mandrake column, the actress said: "We are not together. We're fine, but we aren't a couple any more. The reason I haven't spoken about it is because I hate reading about myself in that way."
