The former glamour model, who was acting as guest editor of The Mirror's '3AM' when she made the comments, criticised the 40-year-old and said she would not appreciate the gesture if she had been in Ayda's place.
She also said that she would not want someone singing to her while she was in labour, before lashing out again, saying Williams' wife didn't look pleased with his behaviour. The 36-year-old finished off her rant by saying: "I wouldn't do it. If I'd done something like that I don't think people would have reacted so positively. They never do."
Field, who was in labour for over 24 hours, and Williams both appeared in a number of photos and humorous videos which the singer posted to Twitter and his official YouTube account on Monday.
Williams started by tweeting a photo of his wife's shoes – a pair of red, stiletto heels, with the caption: "When Ayda goes into labour she comes correct ;) RW x (sic).
He then decided to offer essential "help" to his partner – by dancing and miming to his 2012 hit 'Candy', however when his wife doesn't seem to be amused, he cuts the music and accuses her of being "no fun".
Another video shows Field herself dancing around their private room as she awaits the arrival of their son, while one of the final videos to be shared by the singer was taken just before their newborn arrived. Here, Williams gave a rendition of 'Let It Go', from Disney's animated movie Frozen.
Following the birth of the couple's child on Monday, they released one final video. In the footage, they explained the idea behind their unusual updates.
"We started out with the idea of the shoes and then it just snowballed from there," Williams said. "Of course everything we have done has been a bit of a laugh and it's helped Ayda take her mind off the pain.
"I hope we made you laugh in the process and it's made the whole experience really magical. No mummies were upset or harmed in the making of these videos."
Williams and Field married in 2010 and are already parents to two-year-old daughter, Theodora 'Teddy' Rose.
