The Only Way Is Essex star suffered a miscarriage with her boyfriend James Lock's child during the summer, but the news was only revealed last week.
Armstrong only discovered she was expecting when she visited her doctor during the summer, having fainted on a couple of occasions. She thought she was suffering from anaemia, but her doctor asked about the possibility of pregnancy. The reality television star said no, as she was on birth control, but after taking a number of pregnancy tests, realised she was going to have a baby.
However, the 26-year-old admitted she was not overjoyed when she heard the news, and in an interview with Heat magazine, said she blames herself for the loss.
She explained: "I was being punished because I wasn't ecstatic about the pregnancy. We weren't desperate for a baby and I'd questioned whether I wanted to keep it. Right now I still feel so guilty for getting upset over that decision being taken away from me. I keep thinking 'God, should I be getting upset?'
"I didn't think I'd be so upset because the pregnancy was never planned – but I was. It was only when I was at home with the baby was inside me, knowing it wasn't going to survive. It was horrible. Just horrible."
Her boyfriend vowed to stand by her and support her through the tragedy, but he was also deeply affected by the loss and ended up going abroad on business, than comforting his partner. While he has since apologised for his actions, he added that the couple were not ready to start a family as they had been having a number of arguments.
They have been dating for over a year, but are now trying to salvage their relationship.
