A representative for the actress confirmed the pregnancy to People magazine, putting an end to weeks of speculation.
Tyler is thought to have been in a relationship with Dave Gardner, David Beckham's best friend, since the start of the year but they have tried to keep their romance out of the spotlight.
It has been reported that the couple were introduced via mutual friend Kate Moss.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper earlier this year, a source was quoted as saying: "This is the real deal. Dave and Liv are madly in love. They mix in the same circles because Dave hangs out a lot with a group that includes Kate and Stella McCartney."
Tyler, who is the daughter of Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, is already a mother to son Milo, whom she had with ex-husband Royston Langdon.
Gardner is also a parent, to a son, Grey, with his ex-wife Davinia Taylor.
