The venue was located on the Attercliffe Road.
It is understood the fire started in the kitchen of the Arooj restaurant, before quickly spreading to the roof at around 5pm. The blaze is thought to have started accidentally on a cooker and spread through an extractor unit, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
No one was injured in the incident.
The wedding guests were moved to a nearby local mosque.

Around 200 guests had to be evacuated from a wedding reception venue in Sheffield on Saturday.The venue was located on the Attercliffe Road.
