When asked about the name choice by Hello! magazine, the singer admitted: "I just really like the name."
It is the third child for Bailey, 37, and her husband Craig. They are also parents to daughter Brooke, nine, and five-year-old son Tommy, and the singer has admitted she always wanted to have three kids.
She told the publication: "I always wanted three kids, but before The X Factor we couldn't afford it. So I was resigned to the fact I would just have the two. Then next thing you know I find out I'm pregnant and I was like, 'Yes. I'm finally going to get my wish.'"
She also revealed that the preparations for her daughter's birth had been stressful, especially when Bailey went into early labour. "I got told at 29 weeks that I had a 70% chance of having the baby in the next couple of weeks," she said. "So I bought a load of premature-baby clothes and every day I woke up thinking, 'Am I going to have the baby today?'
"I was in hospital at about 31 weeks for a few days because I went into early labour and had to have a steroid injection."
The singer first announced she was pregnant in March and continued to keep her fans updated on her progress throughout her pregnancy. On 10 September, news of Miley's birth was revealed via Bailey's Twitter page. The message, which was posted on behalf of the new mother, read: "Sam Bailey gave birth to her third child, a beautiful baby girl, at 10.41am this morning. Both Mother and baby are doing well. Team Sam x".
