It is thought the couple called time on their relationship recently, but news of the split only emerged on Thursday when Ms Sarker mentioned her boyfriend on Twitter.
Sarker, who is one of the celebrities taking part in this year's Strictly Come Dancing, is said to now be dating her business partner Scott Carey.
Taking to Twitter, the 41-year-old shared a photo of the new couple, writing: "After the madness of last night – a calm sunny day in London with Scott #happybirthdayboyfriend xxx".
The actress first met her husband in 1989. They separated soon after but met in 1999 and married in 2003. They have a 13-year-old son together, called Noah.
Commenting on the former couple's relationship, a source is quoted by The Sun as saying: "Nick was the love of Sunetra life and she thought she would be with him forever but they drifted apart.
"She met Scott and he swept her off her feet. They are besotted with each other and Scott will be coming down to support her on Strictly."
