Michael Stockman, 30, from Coleraine in Co L'derry, was convicted in January after he was found to have taken £800 from six of his customers before he was due to perform at their weddings or parties. However, in those instances, he failed to turn up, usually sending the victims a text message at short notice – such as the morning of the weddings – falsely claiming that his father had died.
Last month, his solicitor said he was to face additional charges, but today (5 September) it was reported that Mr Stockman is facing 12 new counts of theft.
A prosecution lawyer said the fresh claims total around £1,200.
It is thought the cases were brought by other complainants following the publicity around the initial cases of theft.
According to UTV, the judge was due to sentence Stockman in relation to the January case, but agreed to a two-week adjournment to enable the DJ's lawyer to make representations about the 12 new counts.
A pre-sentence report from the Probation Service has also been requested.
Mr Stockman is due to appear in court again on 19 September.
