James Costello, 31, was standing near the finish line when two bombs exploded within moments of each other at the event in April 2013. Three people were killed in the bombings, with more than 260 people left injured. Mr Costello, who was watching a friend participate in the marathon, suffered shrapnel injuries and serious burns to his right arm and leg, which required pig skin grafts.
He spent a number of weeks at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital to recover and it was here where he met Krista D'Agostino.
Ms D'Agostino, 31, and who now goes by Mrs Costello, was one of the nurses at the facility who helped him through his recovery.
The couple married in Boston last Saturday, but details have only recently emerged. They are now on honeymoon in Hawaii.
