In January, the couple announced they had ended their engagement, but just weeks later Sweeney discovered she was pregnant with her ex's child.
Now, in an interview with OK! magazine, the actress has said a possible reunion could be on the cards. The 43-year-old admitted: "We've been spending lots of time together and the priority really is to get the baby born and healthy and we'll see what happens after that.
"We've grown a lot closer. He's been so supportive. He's been brilliant, he really has. He's been helping my out with things, he's been wonderful.
"I think he'll be a brilliant dad, he'll be great. I think he'll be really hands-on. Daniel's wanted to be involved in everything. He's been an absolute rock."
Sweeney also revealed what the couple will call their son once he is born.
"I'm having a boy and I'm calling him Gabriel because he's my little angel sent from heaven," she said. "I thought it was a beautiful name but I might see him and decide on something else."
Sweeney and Riley announced their engagement on Christmas Eve 2012, and had planned to marry in the House of Lords. They separated at the start of this year and in May, it was confirmed the former couple were expecting their first child together.
