Cheryl, formerly known as Cheryl Cole, posted a selfie of herself to Instagram and Twitter. It was taken in the dressing room at The X Factor auditions earlier this week, but within moments of sharing the photo, the singer was criticised about her weight and appearance.
It wasn't long before her husband jumped to her defence, however, as he hit back at the internet trolls. He said: "She is the most beautiful woman on the planet and she wants to share it. #sharingiscaring No seriously she is. Do you follow me?
"And I can tell you something else she really care about her fans and touched by all your support. Now for the hater please continue talking #wasteofenergy. I wish I had that much time hating and waste energy. Must mean you have. (sic)"
Cheryl and Jean-Bernard announced their surprise marriage last month. The couple had been dating for just three months before their wedding, having met at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Their ceremony was held in the Caribbean resort of Mustique, with just four guests in attendance.
