The news was first reported by America's OK! magazine, but neither Mendes or her partner, actor Ryan Gosling, have addressed the claims. However, on Thursday, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres appeared to confirm the news.
She wrote on Twitter: "Congrats to @RyanGosling and @EvaMendes! That's going to be the most beautiful, bilingual, part-superhero, well-dressed, romantic baby ever."
Both Gosling and Mendes have appeared on DeGeneres' talk show on a number of occasions over the years. In February, 40-year-old Mendes was interviewed by the host, and while she was questioned about baby rumours, the actress denied the reports.
She explained the rumours had started when she refused to walk through a body scanner at Los Angeles International Airport, and many had jumped to the conclusion it was because she was expecting a baby. At the time, she said: "It's so ridiculous. It all started because I didn't want to go through the scanners at the airport. You know those X-ray scanners, which are really creepy? They basically see you naked, right? And not only that, but there's a radiation aspect to it, so I always opt out."
A representative for the actress confirmed the story to MailOnline at the time, saying: "She has never gone through the scanners at the airport, she has always elected to be hand checked instead."
Mendes and Gosling, 33, have been in an on-off relationship since 2011. They have not been spotted together recently, leading many to believe the actress is trying to keep her pregnancy under wraps. According to reports, she is seven months pregnant.
