The 26-year-old added that he was initially shocked when his girlfriend, Caroline Daly, told him she was pregnant.
In an interview with OK! magazine, Thomas said he had bought a pregnancy test kit for his 24-year-old partner just incase she would be expecting. However, both were left surprised when she took the test and discovered it was a positive result.
He said: "We got home and did it and there was this massive scream. My head fell right off.
"I'm really excited now I've got my head around it," he added. "I'm on top of the world."
During the interview, Thomas also confirmed that the couple are expecting a baby boy. He also touched on the subject of a wedding, but said: "I was going to propose this year, then she said she was having a baby so I was like, 'Oh, I'll save it for next year.' I think it would be nice to have him [their son] walk down the aisle with the rings and remember the day."
