The denial comes after The Sunday Mirror claimed the 40-year-old Formula One boss had proposed to his girlfriend last month. The couple, who started dating in January, are said to have enjoyed a whirlwind romance. Sources claim Halliwell, 41, also recently told those close to her that she is "the happiest I have been in my life".
However, on Sunday, those close to Horner said the marriage reports are not true. Speaking at Silverstone at the 2014 British Grand Prix, they told the MailOnline: "It's categorically untrue – the pair are not engaged to be married."
Halliwell and Horner are said to have started dating in January 2013, but only went public with their romance in March. At the time, Horner faced criticism after it was revealed he had left his wife of 14 years, Beverley, just six months after she gave birth to their daughter Olivia.
Meanwhile, the former Spice Girl has previously dated Russell Brand and Robbie Williams. The singer also dated director Sacha Gervasi. The couple's daughter, Bluebell, was born in May 2006.
