Couples Disagree Over Holiday Packing

Leaving certain items at home when packing to go on holiday could provide beneficial for couples.

According to a new survey, by Silver Travel Adviser, there are specific items that both men and women should leave out of their suitcase when packing in order to keep the peace.

For example, many women say their partners should forget about packing their Hawaiian shirts, as well as any leather sandals they think about wearing with a pair of socks. Corduroy is also a no-no, as is a "family sized" can of shaving foam.

For the women, they are advised to only pack three pairs of shoes – as they only have two feet in the first place – as well as the minimum amount of medication they might need while away.

The (perhaps) tongue-in-cheek advice comes after the travel review and advice website asked its members about their partners; most annoying packing habits.

Debbie Marshall, Managing Director of Silver Travel Adviser, is quoted as saying: "Our members have listed their partners' most annoying packing habits, with inappropriate clothing being the most annoying male faux-pas, and excessive beauty products and unnecessary extras being the most annoying female trait.

"We hope the experiences of our mature travellers will contribute to others finding holiday harmony this summer!"

The items men want women to leave behind:

• More than three pairs of shoes
