The singer confirmed the news via her Facebook account on Thursday.
Posting a photo of her visible baby bump, she jokingly captioned that the bump was not "a bunch of croissants".
She added: "We're expecting a baby. It's healthy and moving around like a champ."
Carlton also said that her pregnancy will delay the release of her new record.
"I'm bummed to delay the album because it's so special to me and the perfect combination of England and Tennessee," she said. "When I put the record on it feels like medicine. I hope it does the same for you... in due time!"
Last October, 33-year-old Carlton and her then-fiancé, musician John McCauley, announced they were expecting their first child together. A month later however, the singer revealed she had suffered an ectopic pregnancy.
Carlton and McCauley tied the knot in December 2013. Their ceremony was officiated by Stevie Nicks.
