On Saturday (14 June), the animal charity said two guests at the ceremony flagged down a passing motorist after the Florida kingsnake was found in the grounds of St Bridget's Roman Catholic Church.
The driver stopped to help, before contacting the Scottish SPCA.
The snake, which measures three foot in length, is now in the care of the charity's Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Hamilton. He has been nicknamed 'Vince' after one of the stars of the film Wedding Crashers.
Commenting on the case, Animal Rescue Officer Jan Toraman said: "Apparently Vince caused quite a stir at the wedding and gave the guests a real fright.
"When I arrived Vince had slithered into a nearby garden and he wasn't very happy to be rescued.
"We think there may be someone in the area missing their snake and they'll no doubt be surprised when they hear what he's been up to."
Anyone who recognises Vince is asked to contact the Scottish SPCA on 03000 999 999.
If no one comes forward, a new home will be found for the snake.
