The actress became a mother for the second time last year at the age of 47 and has now said she was shocked to discover she had fallen pregnant.
During an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Berry felt she was too old to have another child, revealing "I didn't think it was possible at my age honestly. They call it a geriatric pregnancy.
"This is probably way TMI [too much information], but I was really kinda premenopausal, so to have this happen was huge. "
She added that her daughter, six-year-old Nahla, prayed for her.
"Only her prayers could have done this," she admitted. "He's like one of her dollies that came to life. All she wants to do is change his clothes.
"She'll purposely throw something on his shirt and say, 'Oh, mommy, he's got to change his shirt. He has a mess on him!"
Halle also talked about the recent changes in her personal life, saying: "Two things that I swore I would never ever do again in life. I mean, I didn't think it was possible to have another baby and I thought for sure I had a need never to get married again.
"So, I've learned never to say never."
Berry and her husband Olivier Martinez married in July 2013. Their first child together, a son named Maceo, was born that October. The actress is also a mum to Nahla, six, from a previous relationship with model Gabriel Aubry.
