The couple were rumoured to be in a relationship after media reports claimed they had been spotted spending time together in New York last week.
A spokesperson for the Coldplay singer has since issued a statement, and told The Metro: "They are definitely not dating."
The romance rumours came just weeks after Martin and his wife Gwyneth Paltrow confirmed their 10-year marriage had come to an end. The pair have two children together, a nine-year-old daughter named Apple, and a son, Moses, aged seven.
Chung meanwhile previously dated Alex Turner, a member of band Arctic Monkeys for four years, but the couple went their separate ways in July 2011.
