Rock Listeners Are 'More Likely To Cheat'

Those who listen to rock music are more likely to have an affair; that's according to a new survey by dating website IllicitEncounters.com.

The site asked 3,000 of its members in the UK about their music preferences, and the results found that for England, Wales and Scotland, Rock'n'Roll was the favourite genre (41%), with pop music coming in second (16%) and country music in third place (11%). Classical (7%) and rap/hip-hop music (2%) rounded off the top-five.

Interestingly, the sites Irish users didn't follow this trend, with country music taking the top spot (33%), followed by Rock'n'Roll (29%). Pop (12%), R'n'B (6%) and classical music (6%) finished the top five.

Elsewhere, more than 70% of members polled admitted they would not date someone with vastly different music tastes to their own.

Commenting on the findings, Mike Taylor, spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com, said: "I am not surprised that Rock 'n' Roll music came out on top. Rock music has a long been associated with sexual appeal, risk taking and living life on the edge.

"Many of our members would have grown up under the influence of bands such as the Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac and it is very possible that these songs have had an influence on their lifestyle."
