Peaches Geldof 'Happy' Being A Mum

Peaches Geldof wrote of her joy at being a mother in her final parenting column, it has been revealed.

The column for Mother & Baby magazine has been published posthumously.

On Monday, Geldof, 25, was found dead at her home. Police have said her death is being treated as "non-suspicious, but an unexplained sudden death".

A post-mortem is due to be carried out today (9 April).

Writing in her column, the mother-of-two credited her sons with rescuing her from a life of "wanton wanderlust".

She wrote: "I wanted an anchor – I craved it. And, when I had two wailing, smiling, joyful little blobs of waddling pink flesh, they became my entire existence, and saved me from one of pure apathy."

The writer and television presenter also admitted that she was suddenly "friendless" as her "fair-weather" friends didn't have any time for her once she could no longer go out for "wine-soaked" dinners.

Honestly, however, she added that she soon realised that "everything else was nothingness and it just... didn't matter. I had the perfect life – two beautiful babies who loved me more than anything. It was, and is, bliss.

"Now, with a new-found group of mummy mates, both locally and online... I'm happier than ever."

Peaches is survived by her husband Thomas Cohen and two young sons, Astala, who will turn two later this month, and 11-month-old Phaedra.
