Before his son was born, the 54-year-old previously told the press that he would not be partaking in that particular parental duty, but it appears that he has stood by his opinion.
According to a report by The Sun, the news was leaked by the daughter of his son's nanny. Cowell and his girlfriend, US socialite Lauren Silverman, are said to have hired Kimberley Hightower to help look after their son. Ms Hightower is a mother to comedian Syd Wilder, and it is Wilder who has been quoted by the paper as saying: "My mum is Simon Cowell's nanny. He is an amazing father – but my mum is changing all the diapers.
"He's not doing anything but he is there, he is very supportive. He loves the baby but changing diapers is what she is paid for."
Cowell became a father earlier this year when his girlfriend gave birth to a baby boy – Eric – on Valentine's Day. While it is the first child for the music mogul, Lauren has another son from her previous marriage to Andrew Silverman.
