The singer said that she wanted Osbourne, 61, who mentored her to victory in the last series of the television talent show, to play a special role in her child's life.
The news of Osbourne's role as godmother broke when the judge took to Twitter. Writing a post directly to Bailey, she said: "@SamBaileyREAL I would be honoured to be your baby's Godmother!"
Bailey was quick to respond, writing: "@MrsSOsbourne Wow.. I am so pleased xxx thank you xx I am one very lucky lady to have u in my life Mrs O xx. (sic)"
Last week, Bailey announced she was pregnant. It will be the third child for the singer and her husband Craig, who are already parents to Brook, eight, and five-year-old Tommy.
